Mid-Alumina Ceramic Ball
99% high alumina ceramic balls (catalyst support media) are made from alumina powder of low silicon content. Their high purity and high strength give outstanding resistance to high temperature, and the balls are used to prevent silica leaching from the support bed into downstream reactors, and to avoid fouling or poisoning of the catalyst.

Mid-alumina inert ceramic balls are widely used in the petroleum, chemical engineering, fertilizer production, natural gas, and environmental sectors, where they serve as supporting and covering material for catalysts in reaction vessels and as packing in towers. They have stable chemical properties and low water absorption, withstand high temperature and high pressure, and resist attack by acids, alkalis, and many organic solvents, including the temperature changes occurring during manufacturing service. The principal function of inert ceramic balls is to improve the distribution points of gas and liquid, and to support and protect weaker, activated catalyst bodies above the bed.
