These grinding balls are used as the grinding medium in ball grinding machines.

The zirconia content approaches 95%, and the product is therefore also called 95% zirconia beads or high-purity zirconia beads. The beads are manufactured from zirconia oxide powder and yttria oxide powder with additives, compacted under high pressure. After pressing, the green beads are sintered at high temperature to develop a tetragonal zirconia polycrystal microstructure. The beads are used for the superfine grinding and dispersing of zero-pollution, high-viscosity, and high-hardness materials, in equipment such as horizontal sand mills, vertical sand mills, basket mills, ball mills, and attritors.
