Metal Wire Mesh Demister is a gas-liquid separation device, and the gas passes through the wire pad of the demister to remove the entrained mist. The standard (HG/T21618-1998 is based on the original Ministry of Chemical Industry standards: HG5-1404-81, HG5-1405-81 and HG5-1406-81, combined with the actual experience of the wire mesh demister and advanced in the introduction device technically revised.

Metal wire mesh demister is mainly composed of wire mesh and wire mesh grid composed wire mesh block and support device for fixing the wire mesh block. The wire mesh is a gas-liquid filter mesh of various materials, and the gas-liquid filter mesh is made of wire or Non-wire composition. The non-metallic wire of the gas-liquid filter is made of a plurality of non-metallic fibers, and may also be a single-strand non-wire. The wire mesh demister can not only filter out large liquid foam suspended in the airflow, but also filter out small and small liquid foam. It is widely used in the separation device for chemical, petroleum, tower manufacturing, pressure vessel and other industries. 

The wire mesh demister (demister) is used to separate the droplets entrained in the gas in the tower to ensure mass transfer efficiency, reduce valuable material loss and improve the operation of the post-column compressor. Generally, the demister is generally placed at the top of the tower. It can effectively remove 3–5um droplets. If a demister is installed between the trays, it can not only ensure the mass transfer efficiency of the tray, but also reduce the board spacing. Therefore, the wire mesh demister is mainly used for gas-liquid separation, and gas separation for air filter. In addition, the wire mesh demister can also be used as a buffer for various types of meters in the instrument industry to prevent electronic interference caused by radio waves. It has been widely used in industrial production of chemical, petroleum, sulfuric acid, medicine, light industry, metallurgy, machinery and environmental protection.
