Ceramic balls >> Inert Ceramic Balls-ICB99B |
|
ZOOLY-CBS-99B is made from micro-crystal alpha alumina with very low silica content by sintering the material at a temperature over 1750¡æ.
This quotes the material and products, excellent thermal shock resistance and makes it ideal on the heat exchange medium for ¡°PEBBLE HEATERS¡± |

|
|
In this application the balls act as a moving bed which transfers heat from a furnace to the gas/ liquid process stream. The balls are reheated and returned to the bed in a ¡° closed cycle process¡±
In addition to the above applications, same asZOOLY-CBS-99A, ZOOLY-CBS-99B also can be used as catalyst bed support media. And since ZOOLY-CBS-99B has higher density, more smooth surface, better attrition resistance and finer mechanical strength than ZOOLY-CBS-99A, thus, make itself more ideal for some applications in supporting and covering catalyst. |
|
Specific Advantages of CBS-99B are:
- ZOOLY-CBS-99B balls are long lasting because they are inert and can withstand exposure to most environments
- ZOOLY-CBS-99B ball is a smooth ball product; the smoothness provides low pressure drop characteristics, eliminating the need for additional compressor horsepower to maintain operating pressure.
- ZOOLY-CBS-99B balls have good thermal shock properties and very good resistance to the mechanical and abrasive actions found in catalyst support systems.
- ZOOLY-CBS-99B balls have high chemical purity, with over 99 percent Al2O3 content and minute traces of sio2.
- ZOOLY-CBS-99B balls do not produce fines and dust to contaminate the product stream.
- ZOOLY-CBS-99B balls are unaffected by either oxidizing or reducing atmospheres at temperatures well below the softening point. The balls are also practically insoluble in almost all aqueous acid and alkaline solutions.

Thermal shock resistance test for ZOOLY-CBS-99B
- Randomly pick 100 particles of ZOOLY-CBS-99B from the batch or shipment.
- For each sample selected, heat it up to 1100¡æ and maintain them at this temperature for 30 minutes
- Drop the hot balls into cold 20¡æ water
- Repeat steps two(2) and three(3) ten times on each and every balls in the sample lot
Examine the balls and count the percentages that show clear signs of breakage and /or cracking. Our standard is that all the balls remain intact. |
